Great Flood Insurance Question!
It’s Insurance Tips For Tuesday!
I had a great question from a new client buying a home in a high-risk flood zone (Flood Zone AE).
Because the home could be a total loss after a catastrophic flood, he wanted to know how he could insure the home to be rebuilt if it is declared a total loss.
Typically National Flood Insurance Policies (NFIP) will only cover a home up to $250,000. That’s the max coverage available. We have partnered with Neptune Flood, a private flood insurance company that can provide much more coverage (up to $4m) to help fully rebuild after a flood.
Additionally, Neptune Flood offers coverage for basement contents (up to $10k) and replacement cost coverage on contents that are damaged in a flood.
That’s it for now. Follow me for more Insurance tips you can use to help you understand your coverage and have a better insurance experience.
If you have any questions on your flood coverage or would like a review or quote, call or click anytime, we are here for you.
